A young woman who is so happy to be riding-- thanks to the Dream On Curls Scholarship Fund. Many of our potential participants are on limited incomes and we are so happy to help them achieve their dreams.
For the past three weeks, this young woman has been participating in a fitness/healthy choices oriented group for children and adults. During this time, she learns not only the basic riding skills but also has an opportunity to bond with her horse and learn about the responsibility that is included with horseback riding. The riding skills learned assist in building core muscles in the abs and back while also encouraging the rider to work together with her mount and other members of the group.
The opportunity for this young woman to ride and care for 'her horse' has already worked its magic. She is falling in love with her mount Lilly. She says “It is a responsibility to ride this horse. I need to keep her safe, and listen to her while she is listening to me. " NARHA certified instructor Zoe enjoys teaching all the skills of horsemanship and riding - but when, as in this case, that lesson moves into the next level of emotional commitment to the horse, it's even more gratifying.

With the use of a 50% scholarship this young adult is able to participate in lessons for 8 weeks. She is thrilled and truly appreciates this assistance. She has even volunteered to help raise funds within the community so that others can 'experience the dream'.
